ADVOCACY & SUPPORT

Our Mission

For the families of Missing Murdered Indigenous Women and Missing and Murdered Indigenous People.

Who We Are.

Pretty Eagle Woman Resources is a 501c3 Native-led nonprofit organization established in Lame Deer, Montana, in 2022. Rooted in the heart of South Eastern Montana, we are dedicated to serving the Crow and Northern Cheyenne tribal communities, along with the neighboring regions.

We are driven by a singular mission: to provide a centralized platform for families of Missing and Murdered Indigenous people. Here, they can access essential resources, unwavering support, and critical information. Our overarching goal is to raise awareness about the ongoing crisis and stand as a beacon of hope and action.

We invite you to join us in our mission. Together, we can make a difference, support one another, and amplify the voices of those who are most marginalized and vulnerable."

*At present, our dedicated efforts are primarily directed towards serving the Crow and Northern Cheyenne tribal communities and surrounding areas. However, we are actively preparing to extend our reach and impact through upcoming service area expansions.

What We Do.

Advocacy & Outreach

  • Pretty Eagle Woman Resources is committed to shedding light on the deeply troubling issue of Missing and Murdered Indigenous Peoples (MMIP). To raise awareness and demand justice, we have initiated a comprehensive billboard campaign.

These billboards symbolize our unwavering dedication to ensuring that the lives of our missing and murdered loved ones are not forgotten. They are a stark reminder that these lives mattered, and they continue to matter deeply.

  • At the heart of our mission is empowering and advocating for the voice of surviving family members of MMIP and human trafficking survivors. We aim to strengthen connections and partnerships across the state, enhancing the availability of support resources and knowledge for those in need. We extend our assistance to justice efforts, event organization, and the creation of justice materials, banners, and posters to amplify the impact of MMIP family members in their quest for justice.

  • Through prevention, education, awareness, and community-building, Pretty Eagle Woman Resources aspires to cultivate a world where all indigenous people feel safe, valued, protected, and empowered.

  • Pretty Eagle Woman Resources is dedicated to utilizing tribal culture and art as potent tools for education, awareness, and healing. This includes employing art and culture for healing among MMIW/MMIP families, organizing community art projects and workshops led by tribal artists and elders that integrate traditional healing approaches, and hosting art shows to support local tribal artists while advancing awareness and fundraising for MMIW/MMIP initiatives.

  • Pretty Eagle Woman Resources actively engages in various fundraising initiatives year-round, not only to raise vital funds for our organization but also to promote awareness and education within our community.

Join us in our mission to honor the memory of our missing and murdered relatives and to demand justice.

Together, we can create a brighter, safer future for all members of our community.

Kaysera Stops Pretty Places | August 2001 — August 2019

Our organization was born out of love and remembrance, founded in honor of Kaysera Stops Pretty Places, whose Apsaalooke name is Pretty Eagle Woman. She was tragically taken from us just days after her 18th birthday in 2019, making her one of the countless victims of the Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Girls (MMIWG) crisis. Kaysera was a true champion of the underprivileged; always advocating for those in need.
